Devere Group in Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Costumer unable to get in touch with Devere
Most reviews on seems to be answered with following wording from devere: "We have successfully provided over 3,500 clients in Hong Kong with trusted financial planning services. We have an excellent relationship with our clients who have regularly reported that they are satisfied with the professional service and support we provide them with. It is true to say that a few consultants did leave us to start Taylor Brunswick.Whilst they were working there were mistakes made however, we have now rectified those issues and are pleased to confirm that our Hong Kong office is stronger than ever." Well I hope you didn't count me as one of the 3500 clients you have "successfully" provided over, or regard your "relationship with me as "excellent". In fact to my dismay, i have been trying for a year via various channels to get in touch with you, so far unsuccessful. After losing a lot of money i had invested with devere, partly due to bad advise and partly due to huge fees, i lost pulled out as much as i could without being penalized. With a 50% loss i might add. Now my complain is not about my losses, nor about how the fee structure or "lock-in" mechanism was explained in a misleading way. I simply let i go and kept the remaining 25% of my initial portfolio with devere, as i would have had to pay a large sum of money if i withdrew the rest within the first 8 years. My gripe is that for the past year or more i've tried to get in touch with Devere, but they wont reply emails or phone calls. I finally decided to go to their office, which according to their website now had moved to central building on Pedder st. (from Wyndham st where i used to come). Much to my surprise it is a satellite office with no Devere employees there at all (so much for "our Hong Kong office is stronger than ever"). A rather unhelpful girl in the reception gave me an email address to contact. The email was a anonymous Gmail and not a Devere mail which further raised suspicion. The girl refused or couldn't provide me with a phone number so this was my only option. After sending an email i did receive a No-number call from a guy who said he was about to board an aircraft and would call me the following Monday. I have not received such call 3 weeks after. I cannot believe that Devere would treat costumers like this, and while i'm still hoping to hear from them, i am now considering legal action in an effort to recover my investments with Devere. So frustrating and unnecessary...
Devere Group in Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Taylor Brunswick the new devere
Members of Devere have left to start up a new company. Same scam, same people, different name. Beware. ManaginG partner Nick Smith ran The Devere Hong Kong office now runs Taylor Brunswick. Please watch out for these people, everything mentioned in previous complaints is true. Many unlicensed people are working at similar institutions. Nick Smith saw the trouble of Devere hong kong coming so left to set up his own company. He presided over 10years of mispractice at Devere and tries to distance himself from the firm he allowed to break many regulations. I hope you do not get conned by the same people.
Devere Group in Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Simon Pratt deVere - good guy, don't believe stuff posted by Anoymous
There is much stuff posted online by 'Anonymous' people. If they won't put there name to it, don't believe it. I don't work for deVere (although I am happy to say I did a few years ago) and have no vested interest in posting this other than not liking the idea of having someone's name dragged through the mud for no valid reason. I have known Simon for 5 years and ALL the stuff I have read about him on this website is rubbish. Frankly speaking this whole website is rubbish. People get to write what they want with complete anonymity and no checking of facts whatsoever. If it was the printed press they would have been sued so many times they would be out of business. Apparently however it is OK to slander people anonymously on this site and the law protects the poster, not the victim. Go USA.
Devere Group in Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Illegal Immigrant worker, Unlicensed Advisor, Charlie Reeves
I have been based in the Asia pacific region for a quite a while now and I have sat down with quite a few independent financial advisors. The cherry on the cake came when I agreed to sit down with one of DeVere's financial advisors in Hong Kong. The advisor in question Charlie Reeves clearly had no idea what he was talking about?. When asking him about several fees and returns on products I later found out that the estimates given to me were nowhere close to reality:. I called Generali to enquire about his "reputation" in Hong Kong and they had never even heard of him,. I checked with the CIB (Confederation of Insurance Brokers) and it turns out he was not registered with them either yet he mentioned being regulated in HK|. He left me with some information on a structured note?. I was appalled just by the fact that a company would send someone like that to pitch their products,. Furthermore how does the Hong Kong government allow this to happen? Also beware of DeVere after considerate research it turns out they are known worldwide for their pushy sales tactics and high commission earnings,. They have been kicked out of Singapore and several other countries:. It is very important to ask them for their CIB registration number and HK ID card/number in order to avoid further confusion when dealing with this company.
Devere Group in Hong Kong, Hong Kong - De Vere & Partners Financial Planners: Warning
If you have ever purchased a product through this company then I STRONGLY advise you to check the advise you were given with the product provider. In particular check the fee structure is as advised and the terms and conditions. If you havent purchased through them then my advise is don't. Avoid them like the plague. I purchased an international plan and asked in depth questions about their fee structure and terms and conditions. I have since found out that documentation that I should have been given was not provided. These documents would have answered all the questions I had, I therefore had to rely on information they provided verbally. This turned out to be incorrect which benifited them at my expense.
