Devere Group's reply to:

Devere Group - DeVere Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City

DeVere in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam kept calling me saying that I had been recommended to be contacted from one of my "friends" or "colleagues". Every time I asked who, they could not answer. Eventually, after weekly phone calls for months, I meet with one of there "expert financial advisers" what a joke. No qualification whatsoever, he would be arrested if he did the same thing in his home country. When I asked if they had anyone qualified as a CFP in their office....more BS and no definitive answer. A vague work history in financial services, no specifics. No clients I could meet, for someone so successful and such a long time in the industry he does not have one client that would recommend him. Anyways glad I saw this site, I feel sorry for anyone who has been taken by this scam. People in Vietnam beware, I hear they just opened an office in Hanoi.

Devere Group in Shenzhen, Guangdong - It looks like they are getting more clever

Hello, I am a 27 years old boy working in Shenzhen, china since 1,5 years. I have been contacted by a "Independent Financial consultant" who wanted to propose me an investment plan to protect my money against inflation because, according to him, due to the financial crisis the volatility and the possible inflation could rise a lot, that means my savings would drop value. My financial consultant has always been very kind and accommodating with me, he offered me a drink on Starbucks where we spoke about many topics and he asked me about investment. The man is about 35 years old, very good appearance, he gave me the impression to be quite expert in economy because he used technical terms and he knows the charts of many commodities (the price of commodities during the time). He told me to be a technical analyzer, he mentioned some technical analysis methods like Elliot's waves, psychological resistance levels, supports and so on. Still the basics I mean, but he did not look like just a sales man. Actually now I realized he used psychological persuasion strategies, like drop purposely down the volume of his voice to force me to get closer and create an instant rapport, really tricky, I thought he wanted dropped down the voice because we were in a public place, but actually I do not understand why other people cannot listen him when he was just introducing me DeVere group. At the second meeting I went to his office and he explained me how does an investment plan does work showing me some mathematical counts. Actually I have always been strong in math and I immediately realized the number he gave me at the end was very tricky and it represents a sort of illusion: it is just the magic of the compound interest, if you see the same chart in logarithmic scale (as you should due to the inflation) you can immediately realize the yield is absolutely linear. Anyway I trusted him because I usually trust person, I went to the third meeting also. Here he used another trick, I called him to pick me up downstairs to his office building because I did not remember his office's location in the palace, but he walked another way coming at my metro stop; when I called him again I realized the misunderstanding and I got back to the metro station, it took more than half an hour to get him (so strange: another trick to make me feel in debt) and it was after work, I started to feel very tired. Then he started to introduce me the generali visio plan, I usually read carefully everything before sign anything, but at the end I was still at his office and it was 11 o'clock p.m. when I got out. At the end I signed because I know Generali and I trusted him, after a couple of days I realized something wrong inside me, like a sort of alert, I started to investigate on internet and I got the truth thanks to this community. I just wrote both to my Financial consultant and DeVere customer service that I want to cancel my policy and I sent instruction to the bank in Hong Kong to do not pay DeVere or anyone else without my consensus. Until now I gave them no money but I am afraid they will attempt to withdraw money from my account using the papers I signed. Is this enough? How can I get out this trouble? Any suggestion will really be appreciated: pickwick85(at)gmail.com Thank you.

Devere Group - Jai Patel

I was recently visited by a woman called Jai Patel from the Devere group Office Zurich all I can say is Beware, Beware. Anyone who has any dealings with Jai Patel on a Professional basis needs to watch their wallets! She will steal the pennies off a dead mans eyes, *** on your leg and try to make you believe its raining. I have since heard from someone who used to work in her office. I feel sorry for anyone that has to have her in their life. She is a sorry excuse for a woman... She abuses everyone in her workplace and when she doesnt get her way she is very vindictive. She will steal from you by sneaking in through your emotions. Beware you have been warned.

Devere Group in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania - Devere Expansion @ consultants Expense

Devere Group, Devere & Partners have been rapidly expanding on a global front for many years. I can confidently tell you this is all at the consultants expense. All consultants that, let's say engaged by Devere because they're certainly not employed. They are self employed, commission only, hungry salesmen. These guys all pay monthly rent to the Manager to have the so called privilege of working out of the office being able to use the Devere name, oh, they do give you some tacky business cards. Yes folks, it's all true Devere have expanded off the backs of the consultants who pay office rent every month, in most cases this equates to approximately $300 month. 8 consultants $2,400 = nice flashy office. Have you ever heard of any company charging it's workers rent to use the office? It's outrageous, this should give you an insight in to the dark world of Devere. My advice is run as fast as you can from anything devere because it's going to be bad news. You only have to search google to see what they are about. Shame on you devere shame on you.

Devere Group in Moscow, Moscow - DeVere charges

There's an agreement between deVere and institutes to have commission paid up front to the detriment of client's investment performance. That is why the salesmen push and close close close because it is worth a Lot of money to them. Most of the time 50-60k usd on 25year plans. The client loses every time! You cannot drop contributions down once the plan has started otherwise you pay fees based on the original investment amount. Also you shall never receive the initial contribution period back because it is swallowed to cover the salesmen's commission.THEY ARE RICH!! Fair play, jet don't fool for the older trick in the book!

DeVere group

This company have shown negative performance on all products because fees cover the salesmen's salaries FACT! Unlucky consumers if you try these guys! Go to Generali's ombudsman for help in Guernsey for refunds! If you were misled or or lied to claim money back. They are the same as Pacific Continental. Nigel Green is another Steven Griggs! Boiler room merchant as well as Mike Coady, Steve Rigby and Darren Height! Salesmen have Partner business cards to gain credibility but they are just *** men that spend there money paying debts and *** as well as getting drunk. Spencer Lodge was in prison and also while drunk bid for an Elton John auction and refused to pay so deVere asked him to work undercover. Spencer was a director in the middle east check him out on google!

Devere Group in Cardiff, Wales - BE WARNED!

De Vere & Partners - what a joke! 2 of us went to Cape Town to work for this scam, boiler-room *** Nigel Green. DO NOT INVEST WITH THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO NEVER SEE A SO-CALLED TRAINED CONSULTANT WHO IS NOTHING SHORT OF A YELLOW PAGES SALESMAN AND YOU WANT TO LOSE EVERY PENNY YOU HAVE! They are ruthless, on-the-run, mostly ex-cons avoiding their own home country laws. They don't even have visas to work in the countries where they are based. And, if you are thinking of being employed with them as we were, take a serious word of warning - DON'T.

Devere Group - Toby Williams devere scammer

Toby Williams of devere Bangkok has given me the run around for 2 years. I originally signed a 25 year Generali retirement policy with him after he did the hard sell on me. He did say we would have meetings every quarter, this failed to happen. My investments have gone down, he is too busy trying to earn more commissions with new clients. I feel absolutely cheated, violated by his lies about how good the service would be. There hasn't been any just excuses. I've since found out he was selling houses in UK, has no prior financial services knowledge and lies about his past qualifications. This seems to be a common thread with devere staff. I am going to move my investment to a smaller company where i feel i will get the service levels i expect. My advice is don't touch dervere with a barge pole.

Devere Group in Kiev, Kyiv - DeVere, your personal friend, just only through LinkedIn

So my secretary was called by somebody, who says she was the assistant of mr Gerry C. of deVere, my personal friend who I was supposed to know. We already exchanged mails. No way, I found out that this gentlemen has done some LinkedIn search, (you can see that in See Who Viewed Your Profile), and from there knew how to apporach my company. I do not like people or companies trying to *** my assistent pretending I am close to them, and she is also too smart for it. Does not look like the type of company I would trust my money. TRust you build by being open and honest.

Devere Group - Bad devere Experience 4 US

Reading through most of the devere complaints I have to say that his is our experience of De Vere's too. They were extremely keen to sell a product (and in the case of my colleague lied about some of the information which she discovered later) and after that were only interested in getting referals, not the maintaining the investments. In fact one time we were told "Well there's not much point me coming to see you if you can't give me any more referrals." We now go to a really professional outfit, who make their money by charging a % of what they earn for you per 1/4. So it makes sense for them to be on top of how the investments are doing. I don't mind paying, but I expect professional service.
