Devere Group's reply to:

Devere Group - Impossible to contact, 50% loss

My wife was contacted by an agent on the recommendation of a friend when she took her first expat contract. She then moved and found it impossible to receive further advice from the company, via e-mail, telephone or personally. We found that her funds had been frozen and yet we had no way to divert future payments to any alternative fund. After moving country again she did manage to contact somebody who reviewed her file but then wasn't heard from again. By this time we had cancelled the bank payments so no more money was going in. A new advisor contacted us trying to sell a new 'life insurance' policy but was not helpful at all trying to do something with the funds already invested. Eventually the invested funds became available again (the trading stop must have been removed, I never found what the problem was) so we went direct to the fund brokers and after much paperwork closed it all down with a 50% loss. The original friend has maintained an investment with them and he says it is OK. Maybe he has been lucky in staying in one place and the agent has been trustworthy and done regular reviews. Our experience with the global group has been quite the opposite.

DeVere Group , More like DEMON GROUP!
I went to ask for Devere Group to transfer my UK pension abroad from the UK. Well, last time I do that! They said sorry we can not help as after reviewing the pension it was only 30,000 pounds and it must be at least 50,000 pounds!!! Which ok is understandable, I said thanks for trying and that was that.Next thing you know I get 2 cold calls a day at minimum and them trying to sell me wills, savings plans, investments, offshore banking and along with that pension transfers, even though they have already told me they cant move it! Durr! Then one day the door rang and it was an adviser from Devere Group, I said what do you want and then it turned out he had the cheek to come all the way to my house to try and sell me a will along with everything else under the sun. I have now had to change my mobile and telephone number to not get never ending cold calls from this company.SO BEWARE! IF YOU WANT SOMETHING FINANCIAL IN DUBAI, DON'T GO NEAR DEVERE. Luckily I found another very trustworthy and reliable company in Dubai who did a fantastic job and it turned out after all I could move my UK Pension.Recently after dealing with Devere I hear from people they have also been ripped off and that they stole money from people. SO BEWARE!

Devere Group in Bangkok, Krung Thep - Keep phoning me and won't give up

A Thai lady just won't give up phoning me all the time. She phoned a year ago and I said I wasn't interested. Then a year later she phones me again and gets pushy trying to arrange a meeting. I told her email me some details and I'll phone her back if I'm interested. She was really strong on the phone trying to get this meeting out of me.She's phoned me 3 times this year. I searched for her email and there is no email from her. She said "listen X, it's better if we arrange a meeting" really abruptly. I said no, and asked her to stop phoning me.If she phones again I'll take her details and post them here. Not a really bad complaint. But pushy, sharp sales people who don't listen and obviously lie (she's never sent me an email the 3 times I've told her to).

Testimonial
I have been a client of deVere for over nine years, in three different locations. They have always provided a flow of ideas, investment guides, and products for me to consider when looking where to invest my money. I have worked with my adviser since coming to Shanghai...

Devere Group in Dubai, Dubai - Spencer Lodge joins Fund Managers

For anyone that has an interest in such matters, this article may be of interest. Mr Lodge has been mentioned on a few forums and so this article caught my eye in the office as I was having my lunch. On the positives, it is good to see that there may be an emphasis on getting well- qualified advisers from the UK to join. That would certainly be a breath of much needed fresh air. I have never heard of Fund Managers or the trade association which seems to represent them and only post this for comment- This is not a complaint http://www.international-adviser.com/news/middle-east/fund-advisers-hires-ex 'devere opinions at - FINANCE-Banks}-lodge

Devere Group in London, England - DeVere Stole My Uk Pension

deVere Group put my UK pension in to a unauthorized pension scheme whereby i have been charged 55% by HMRC on withdrawals. I have since found out that Nigel Green and his band of merry theives are being hunted by all the regulatory authorities across the globe. I found this link from BBC Panorama investingation about one of the many companies Nigel Green is behind, look for yourself www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS36OlVCY5s Make your own mind up about this but of scammers that rip people off and give bad advice. I hear that all their meetings are scripted, they have a 4 page script that they repeat parrot fashion at every meeting. Don't expect honest advice from cheap people-deVere people that is.

Devere Group in Zurich, Zurich - DeVere pays out to elderly couple after fund failures

DeVere Group has confirmed it is being investigated by the Belgian regulator. The probe comes as the financial advice behemoth was forced to make a payment to an elderly couple who invested in two failed investment funds via the company’s Cypriot office. According to the Daily Mail's Tony Hetherington, deVere advisers in Cyprus recommended the couple invest into the Premier Property Option fund and the Premier Diversified Property Fund in 2007. The investments were described by the accompanying documentation as ‘low volatile investments’ and the couple invested £100,000 in the funds. In 2010 the funds were compulsorily redeemed and frozen, respectively, and losses totalled 60%. Subsequent investigation by the newspaper found deVere’s Cypriot office did not hold its own financial trading licence but had passported into the country via its Belgian licence. As the company is only licensed to sell insurance products in Belgium, the Belgian ombudsman could not compensate the couple. DeVere has settled the matter with the couple but the group is now the subject of an investigation by the Belgian regulator. Martin Byrne, a lawyer and ‘reputation management’ specialist working for deVere, told the newspaper: ‘Unfortunately, we are unable to comment on the specifics of this case due to the on-going investigations, with which we are co-operating fully.’

Devere Group in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England - Bunch of ***

OMG,talk about leading you up the garden path.My partner found out about Devere group by chance online and so the process began. What a heart breaking, load of *** total bunch of *** you are told...they should be shot. Two interviews, a *** test, questions asked by them to make you feel like they are professionals and that you WILL be looked after AND earning ridiculous amounts of money, a course in *** Malta and then IF, yes IF you pass then in a few weeks you will be welcomed to the destination of your choice.Hahahaha i think not. After saying goodbye to his daughter and myself, leaving a fairly paid job with good bonuses and nice people he had the agonising flight of 17 hours ahead. All weekend he spent on his own in a completely different country, experiencing new culture, time difference of 7 hours to back home, no contact from devere group.Having worked with many professional company's both him and i,we expected for his co-ordinater to at least meet him at the airport to welcome him and possibly show him around after all this is a major step and your life is in there hands. No no no this was not the case. If the Internet was not available then he would be absolutely isolated in Bangkok. Which by the way is a *** hole full of pimps, *** beggers and thieves. The first initial day at work he walked in to an office full of other suits, and was told there,s your desk get on with your client contacts. Oh by the way if this is not discrimination then i'm a pink elephant...the day before work started he received a phone call from his co-ordinater telling him his script had to be "spot on for tomorrow, and that you need flair and finesse, but that will be difficult being... a geordie" What the ***??Feeling mortified and that he wanted to rip his face off and a lot of pacing the floor later, he went to bed for the next day ahead. The first initial day at work he walked in to an office full of other suits, and was told there,s your desk get on with your client contacts and you wont make any money for about 3 months cause of the way the pensions work so just be prepared for that. Excuse me? I'm expected to work for you and not earn a bean? I think not...He seen the day out and spoke to me after he finished..... " I'm coming home babe this is a load of ***"So in a nut shell if you want to work for the Devere group this is what lies ahead.....Heart breaking goodbyes to your nearest an dearest, travelling to the other side of the world, being isolated and spending *** colossal amounts of cash then go for it...........Sense? this makes none.

Devere Group - A BBC Panorama investigation into deVere's misselling

A BBC Panorama investigation into high commission and administration charges levied by one Nigel Green and the many companies he operates, one in particular which keeps getting negative worldwide publicity, deVere Group. Just google Devere scammers to see the truth about this shoddy outfit. Simon Pratt one of their recently resigned Directors is is hiding from the Hong Kong Tax authorities. Spencer Lodge another disgraced Director who renagged on a charity ball bid to help Elton John's Aids Foundation. He is just about to embark on opening a international offshore brokerage up in Dubai of all places. As if Dubai didn't have enough already! DeVere currently have three offices fleecing expat's of their life savings. These people should be on SFO most wanted list for crimes against hard working expat's. There are more names to be added to the list of international thieves of which there are many within the deVere Group. Be warned, stay clear of the glossy deVere website, & smooth talking salesman who will give you a word perfect scripted meeting. All deVere meetings are scripted to carefully push you into an expensive front loaded retirement policy.
