Devere Group in Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Simon Pratt deVere - good guy, don't believe stuff posted by Anoymous

There is much stuff posted online by 'Anonymous' people. If they won't put there name to it, don't believe it. I don't work for deVere (although I am happy to say I did a few years ago) and have no vested interest in posting this other than not liking the idea of having someone's name dragged through the mud for no valid reason. I have known Simon for 5 years and ALL the stuff I have read about him on this website is rubbish. Frankly speaking this whole website is rubbish. People get to write what they want with complete anonymity and no checking of facts whatsoever. If it was the printed press they would have been sued so many times they would be out of business. Apparently however it is OK to slander people anonymously on this site and the law protects the poster, not the victim. Go USA.

Beware DeVere Group dodgy Financial Advisors

Beware Financial Advisors on the prowl! Hello, I am sending this email as a responsible Basel citizen, so please bear with me. I work for one of the large pharma companies here in Basel and I have been cold called on quite a few occasions by two companies called (name removed) and (name removed), and they describe themselves as Independent financial advisors in the offshore market who help ex-patriots with their long term financial stability, I have been pestered by these guys and have looked into them more closely, they are in fact just salesmen targeting the professional employees of the pharmaceutical industry here in Basel. Because a lot of professional employees in Basel are considered ex-patriots (people working in a different country than where they were born) they are targeted by these financial salesmen because they qualify for investments in the offshore investment houses. This is all fine but you should be aware that the charges in these investments are very high and these salesmen and women are not qualified to give advice in Switzerland and many not qualified in finance at all. If you sign up with these companies, in five years will they still want to know you? they will have moved on, they have your commission and the funds they have put you in will be very badly managed if at all. As I say I am a financial professional with a large pharma company and it annoys me when I see people being sucked into these long term, (sometimes 25 year arrangements) with very high and hidden charges to salesmen with no qualifications. I understand, any policies you take with these guys, you pay a monthly premium and for the first 18 to 24 months they take all this money as their charges, hideous charges, which takes care of their commssion. And they do not always tell you this! So this is just a warning that if you are cold called in your office or at home then be aware of the above and make your choice as an informed consumer. (dont touch them at all) Please pass this message on to your colleagues so that people are not misled into investment arrangements that may not be suitable to them, as I only know a few people i thought it would be wise to post this to the forum and see if anybody else had any experience with these sharks. Thanks for your time, feel free to reply if you have had any experience of this

Devere Group - Standard Joke Replies?

Devere Group Standard Joke reply As the most un-regulated independent financial consultancy in the world, deVere Group deliberately ignore international regulatory laws. By partnering with some of the world’s most respected investment providers, deVere are able to provide clients with scripted Sales meetings that are designed to push the client into an expensive front loaded plan which is banned in the UK. Working in financial services can be hard but very rewarding; we provide full training turning our advisers into fully qualified coke heads gaining a masters in *** I hope you enjoyed reading this edited reply from deVere. I hear deVere are in for a name change soon as Nigel Green has been on a shopping trip to Dubai, he picked up a company by the name of ACUMA it sounds a lot more credible than deVere...

Devere Group - Nigel Green's CV?

Nigel Green the CEO of devere now has his own vanity-driven website all about him. Including a little bit about his background.  Strangely, he forgetfully and completely missed out the bit in his career where he was a a major shareholder in his former offshore IFA (Britex International). The one that was involved in furiously selling the Imperial Consolidated fund that went belly up and lost investors millions. It was just after that that Nigel changed his company name to devere and partners (now devere group) How could he have forgot about such an eventful past life? He also says on his site that you shouldn't believe the 'haters'. Bizarre and somewhat chav terminology from the CEO- would you not agree? Look up britex international or imperial consolidated fund

Devere Group - May as well be criminal

I dedicated and wasted a year of my life to this joke of a company. They are full of false promises and is surrounded by this huge fake image of people that can help you. I have read and dealt with a number of people who were not happy with the service but i can say the abuse and complete unprofessionalism goes further into the company than people think. The so called coordinators who have 'the most important job' are mistreat and spoken to like garbage while these pretentious consultants are working as hard as they can to scam an honest worker for their money. During my time there i have witnessed lies, cons, drug abuse, extreme sexism and its safe to say it goes much further beyond that. I can say that devere is filled with some of the best salesmen in the world along with plenty of convicts and for that you should be careful not to meet with them, because they will tell you aaaaanything to get your money. I worked 10 hours a day for them for a year and made less than a UK minimum wage. They refused to pay me a basic salary or any expenses at all and were very harsh on conditions, I was forced to call the same *** list of people everyday and receive nothing but abuse from the other end of the line as these people were getting annoyed with me, even though there were some complete idiots down the phone, i completely understand why they were so aggressive. devere pay absolutely no attention to tax or legalities and would not help a fellow employee in need whatsoever. In the space of one year I have seen countless people join and leave the company because of the *** they had to put up with and they have lost a lot of their own money because of it. I know they are now focusing on upping the employment numbers so beware and do not believe the prospects they are offering, the will make money from the money that you manage to earn. stay away! These people are practically stealing money.. and I have no idea how this company is still running..

Devere Group - I couldn't be more thrilled

Six months ago, just after Bobo died, my good friend Masie Mcruthers from the Big Bee hair salon introduced me to a lovely gentleman from England called Lawrence Jamieson. He had been doing over her financial affairs and she told me that they had never been in better shape and that I just had to have him. He was ever so polite and gentleman-like and had a lovely English accent that made him a delight to listen to. He knew everything one could possibly imagine about investments, stocks and bonds and had a degree from Oxford in financial management. All my money, including what Bobo left me, had been gathering dust at the bank and Lawrence told me in no uncertain terms that it needed to be sensibly invested if I was to have a comfortable old age. He said the best choice would be something that I could keep paying into for evermore, and recommended a General Invasion investment plan. He had given it to Masie too. Since she seemed so happy and is really a very good friend, I decided to follow suit. I must say that I have no regrets and would recommend Lawrence and his company to anyone. *** Eubanks, formerly of Omaha

Devere Group - Sales Scripted Meetings?

This is not a complaint merly an observation. A good friend of mine sat down with a deVere Advisor for over one hr. after which he informed the advisor everything sounded pretty good but he would have to do some due diligence on the company. With this in mind he proceeded to search via devere Problems via google, he was astonished what came back. deVere scammers, deVere problems, deVere $50 M UAM Frozen Fund, deVere, deVere... One such item that shocked him after reading was titled deVere scripted meetings which he read with interest. It turned out that the chap from deVere had rehearsed this SALES script back to front, because he remembered vividly what was said to him. Having felt cheated he contacted he decided to dig a little deeper and do more research. It turned out that the CEO has paid various PR Co's to write blogs all over the Internet with the heading "deVere Scammers" in an attempt to distract the google bots search engines. Also what came to light was the fact that deVere Group has joined Pissed Consumer in an attempt to try to silence their critics. On reading through the vast amount of complaints about deVere from various different sources its clear to me deVere are coming back with STANDARD replies then close the thread so there is no further discussions. Learning a sales script is apparently all you need to do to earn £250,000.00 pa with deVere nowadays. Financial product knowledge irrelevant by all accounts. Many Co's pay the likes of CISI for group membership it's like in the UK if you are a jobbing handyman you can pay money to the likes of Federation of Master Builders. You can use their logo & give the impression you are knowledgable, a craftsman... Does this mean you are talking to someone that is qualified? Make your own mind up, you don't have to be a genius to work it out. Just an observation.

Devere Group - Belguim office closed

This is not a compliant but more of a fact find. Does anyone know why deVere had their Belguim licence revoked? Apparently this stopped them opperating in some other EU coutries because they were using the Belguim licence as leverage, can anyone shed further light on this subject? I read something interesting on International Advisor about their UAM FUnd being locked down with up to $50M of client money inside- be helpful if I could get an update on this too. Thank you in advance for your help-happy campers! Been told to enter over 100 words. Ahsvshshshshshshshsshshshehshhshhshshshhhshsbjsjdj /> Hear me now!!

Devere Group's reply to:

Devere Group - *** Artists all the way!

I worked for Devere and I have to say and be completely honest. Do not invest with these guys at all, no financial training whatsoever and all they care about is taking money from you. Check out their fees and their commission earnings. If considering a career with these, please again do not trust them. Commissions are always wrong, always chasing that next pay cheque that never actually arrives. Yes, they'll give you a bit to keep you hanging on but every advisor and consultant I knew there were broke despite supposedly earning a fortune. If you choose to invest with them, don't complain when it goes belly up as you've been warned by several people now. If you decide to work for them, again don't be surprised when you're broke. I knew one guy who couldn't eat for days as he had no money, did anyone help him out? No because most are in the same boat. Just be very careful is all I can say.
